You do not need a medical degree. You need a bachelor's degree.

The programme is open to graduates from any discipline. Eligibility is a recognised bachelor's degree with a 50% aggregate, or 45% for SC/ST/OBC candidates. Teaching is in English, full-time, over four semesters.

The focus throughout is hospital administration and leadership, not general management with a healthcare elective added on.

If your degree is clinical

You already know how patients are treated and can talk to doctors as a peer. What you do not yet have is the management side: how a hospital is budgeted, staffed, accredited and run from day to day. This degree adds that. Graduates with a clinical background are hired into operations, quality and administration roles where the combination is scarce.

If your degree is not clinical

Hospitals do hire managers who did not train as clinicians, but only those who understand how care is delivered. The rotations, hospital vocabulary and quality systems in this programme give you that grounding before you are asked to manage anything.

Yenepoya runs its own medical college and hospitals, so teaching, rotations and placements happen inside one healthcare ecosystem. The campus is in Bengaluru, where large hospital networks, health-tech companies and insurers are all within reach for rotations and hiring.

Four semesters, and hospital exposure from the first one.

Each semester builds on the one before. Data and digital practice run through all four, and career preparation starts early rather than in the final term.

An MBA is a strong general-management qualification with a much wider industry surface, and a short certification is a real, portable skill. The comparison is only useful if you already know you want to work in healthcare.

Do I need a medical degree to apply?
